The caterer is charging us $65/plate\, but after adding taxes\, tips\, beverages\, and facility charges\, that $65 dinner ends up costing the better part of $100/person. The gap between what we collect and what we spend is covered by the hosting Club. With a hundred attendees\, even a $5/person shortfall translates into a $500 expense. So\, the price of dinner is $65 per attendee\, and on the online registration form there’s a place where you can chip in a little extra to cover the shortfall\, if you are so inclined. Citroens are unique\, and the owners are eclectic at best. We all enjoy our cars when they are operating like they should\, and our mechanics have been there for us to make sure they do. This will culminate in a luncheon being given in their honor come June 1st. Three of the major Citroen Clubs in California will be gathering for a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and greet them as well as see some fine examples of Citroen cars. It will be a long drive for some and probably an overnight stay. There are many attractions in the Gold Country and those who come early\, there will be plenty to do.
